Senior Vice President - Regional Manager of Originations at PNC Real Estate
Former AIBL member (1995)
Matt grew up in Missoula, Montana. He attended the University of Montana to study at the School of Business. Like many students, Matt wasn’t sure what he wanted to do after he graduated. He was involved in the AIBL Chapter at the University of Montana and attended one of the first AIBL Leaderships Conferences in April of 1995. At the conference, he spoke with a student recruiter for Nike who encouraged him to apply for the Nike Summer Internship that year. Matt applied for the internship with Nike and was accepted into the program to intern at the Nike Treasury department. Later, Matt reflected on the Nike internship and said “that summer internship was life changing! It opened up doors for me I never knew were there. The Nike Internship changed my perspective on what I thought was possible in terms of my career opportunities and potential, and it helped me to confidently pursue and achieve my goals.”
Fast forward a few years and Matt is now a Senior Vice President of PNC Real Estate. He is responsible for identifying and evaluating potential tax credit investment and loan opportunities in affordable housing properties located in Oregon, California, Washington, Hawaii and Alaska. As the Western Regional Manager he also supervises a team of originators that cover the entire Western United States. He credits AIBL and his internship with Nike for helping him achieve his success today!
Matt's Advice for AIBL Students: Apply for an internship in a field you're interested in. It could open up your perspective and introduce you to new career options.
