Marty Lopez

AIBL's new graduate assistant for the AIBL National Office. Marty Lopez is a member of the Apsáalooke Nation, commonly called the Crow Tribe of Indians. He is an Indigenous anthropologist and an Indigenous film maker in the PhD program at the University of Montana. His master's thesis explored how Indigenous Film could be used in anthropological research as a tool to improve learning outcomes in discussions concerning topics such as tribal sovereignty. One of his career goals now includes becoming a teacher in a university or tribal college classroom utilizing videos created specifically for the course as a supplemental tool for teaching. Marty is also a husband and a father to four awesome kids.
