Indigenous Scholars Internship Program

The 2019 Indigenous Scholars Internship application will open on January 1, 2019! If you would like to express your interest prior to applying, please fill out our interest form below.

ABOUT: All internships are paid, full-time positions in your desired field or similar. Internship placements can range anywhere from tribal governments, to non-profits, to corporations and beyond. We will work with you to determine where you are best suited based on your interests and experience. 

SEEKING: Enrolled college or high school students

TIME FRAME: Early June to Early August 2019

 INCLUDED: Paid hotel and flight to our annual conference in March 2019, personal laptop, business cards, and personalized career guidance.

DEADLINES: The application period will be open from January 1 - February 15, 2019. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

WHO CAN APPLY: 
University, tribal college, and high school students.

REQUIREMENTS:
All applicants must: 1) be an enrolled student 2) be a member of an AIBL chapter. If you are not currently a member of an AIBL chapter, it's easy to start one! Let us know and we can send you instructions on how to do so.

WHERE IS THE INTERNSHIP?
We have a list of host partners that would love to host you, in cities around the country. If you have a specific organization you'd like to work for, let us know and we can try to arrange it. Requested placements occur on a case-by-case basis and pending host organization approval. You will have the opportunity to interview with your potential host organization prior to being assigned in order to make sure it's a good fit for you and them.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS:
If accepted into the program, you will be required to work in your hometown aka where you return each summer break, not in the city where you go to school.

WHEN CAN I OFFICIALLY APPLY?
The internship application will open officially on January 1, 2019. This form is simply to express interest so we can connect with you prior to the application period and answer any questions you may have.
