National Leadership Conference
This annual national leadership conference provides plenary presentations, panel discussions, and workshops that focus on contemporary themes surrounding Indian business and Tribal economic development issues. Provides students with leadership training, concentrating on such areas as Learning to Lead; Effective Team Leadership; Teambuilding Techniques; Effective Decision Making; Goal Setting; Conflict Resolution; Managing By American Indian Cultural Values; Building Self-Esteem/Self-Worth; etc. All conference activities include a component that addresses the American Indian cultural value system.
This conference includes the Chapter of the Year Competition, AIBL Business Plan Competition, Recruiters Event, as well as AIBL’s Student Leader and Advisor of Year awards.
Chapter of the Year Competition
This award recognizes the outstanding achievement of K-8, High School, and Tribal College/University student chapters in the advancement of the objectives and overall mission of the American Indian Business Leaders' organization.
AIBL Business Plan Competition
The AIBL Business Plan Competition to facilitate entrepreneurship and provide our membership with the opportunity to acquire experience in planning and running an actual business venture. Sixty percent of AIBL Chapters run their own businesses.
Recruiters Event
AIBL’s recruiter’s event is a unique forum that allows recruiters to not only gain tangible intern/career placement results, but also assist with retention efforts after placement. Current AIBL student recruiters include corporations such as IBM, Nike, and IRS, as well as educational institutions such as Harvard University and Gonzaga University.
AIBL Student Leader of the Year Award
This award recognizes an AIBL student member who exhibits the qualities of a true "leader" in providing guidance and direction to AIBL students as a group. His/her peers must view this person as a leader.
AIBL Advisor of the Year Award
This award recognizes an AIBL advisor who has made himself or herself available to support the activities and efforts of the student chapter. The student chapter members must view this person, as going above and beyond what is expected of an advisor.
