Robert J. Harrison

Robert J. Harrison is the Chairman and Founder of Red Cloud Food Services, Inc. and Red Cloud Inc. Bob was born and raised on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North Dakota. He is an enrolled citizen of that Tribe and still owns a home on the Reservation.

Bob founded each company for a specific purpose. RCFS was founded in 1998 and was later certified a 8(a) Company by the SBA. This company is a national and international manufacturer of food products for our service members around the world. RCFS has held prime and subcontracts directly with the government (through DLA) and through other prime contractors. Under Bob’s leadership RCFS has become one of the premier suppliers of protein products to the Army and Air Force. Thus, RCFS is now considered one of the top performing suppliers to the Prime Vendor program for the Army in the Middle East. RCI was founded as the company Bob would employ to handle all of his non-food related business activity. RCI has been successful in its own right having provided many opportunities for growth over the years.

Not forgetting his roots, Bob has always looked for ways to enhance the economic development of Indian Country. His efforts have been recognized over the years by the awards he and his companies have received. RCFS has been awarded the prestigious designation of “American Indian Business of the Year” by the National Center for American Indian Economic Development. More recently, Bob was awarded The Distinguished Order of St. Martin (Silver Medallion) by the Quartermaster General. This award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the Quartermaster Corps.

“Bob Harrison has been a friend of the US Army for a long time. Not only does he assist the Quartermaster Corps by serving as a member of the Quartermaster Foundation’s Advisory Board, but he also provides quality food products in support of a Quartermaster Corps’ key function of provisioning food for the troops. He has been tireless in his efforts to make life better for solders and their families,” said Major General Peet Proctor, US Army (Retired). “It is for these and very many other reasons, that I was happy to nominate Bob for this award, but even happier to present it to him recently,” MG Proctor continued.

A little known fact about Bob is that he is an avid athlete. His proudest accomplishment as an athlete was when he was inducted into the Semi Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011 in Canton, OH. Bob has developed a love for the game of golf in his later years. Thus, it is only natural that he would join his love of our nations Warriors together with his love for the game of golf and sponsor an annual Golf Classic to benefit the family members of our Warriors. The proceeds from this golf outing have allowed many such family members to complete their college educations.

Bob and his family live in Brentwood, Tennessee near the home of the Grand Ole Opry.
