C.J. is born for the Mud Clan, into the Water’s Edge; her maternal grandfather is of the Clump Tree clan and her paternal grandfather is Towering House. She resides within the small community of Mexican Springs, NM located on the Navajo Nation. Currently enrolled in the Bachelors of Arts (B.A) Business Administration Program at Navajo Technical University and she received an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S) Accounting degree in 2018 from Navajo Technical University. Motivated to serve her Native American communities, she is determined to utilize her educational background to lead entrepreneurs and businesses toward its financial health by becoming a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

“That is the beauty of this internship, it’s allowing me to be out of my element and think in a different way that I am not accustomed to.”

While attending Navajo Technical University, as a business student, we provide surrounding communities free tax services. Through this course, I have enjoyed preparing taxes, during which I have built a client based relationship with my community members. In the future, I would like to continue preparing taxes under my own practice to provide honest affordable services to all surrounding communities. Under the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) role I hope to provide effective financial assistance to entrepreneurs and businesses. Also, to have the skills and ethical principles to assume leadership roles whether it be in the workplace, communities, or the global business environment.
