Kari is from Smith Lake, New Mexico. She is a Navajo woman and her clans are Deeshchiinii (Start-of-the-Red-Streak Clan) born for Tsah Yiskidnii (Sagebrush Hill People clan). Kari-April has received her Associate’s of Applied Arts in Accounting from Navajo Technical University in May 2018, and a Certificate in Bookkeeping in December 2016. She is currently working towards her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Navajo Technical University. Her accomplishments include making the Dean’s List for three consecutive academic years, placing third at the American Indian Higher Education Consortium Business Bowl, and serving as Treasurer for the Navajo Technical University College of Business Club.
